KAUKAUNA — After an exceptional volleyball season in her junior year, Kaukauna High School senior Paige Miller announced she would continue her volleyball career at the Ohio State University.
But after winning a second state softball championship in a row this past June, Miller apparently has had a change of heart.
She announced on social media over the weekend that she has committed to continuing her education and softball career as a UW Badger.
“I am extremely blessed that my athletic journey has led me back home! I’m proud to announce I will be continuing my education and softball career at The University of Madison Wisconsin. I am forever grateful for the endless support and blessings,” she wrote.
Miller is a member of the volleyball team that advanced to the WIAA sectional semifinal before falling to conference rival Kimberly.
Miller is one of eight Ghosts who plan to play softball while pursuing a college degree. They include:
Haylie Wittman, Senior Short stop (UW-Oshkosh Commit)
Skyler Calmes, Senior Pitcher (Winona State Commit)
Paige Miller, Junior 3rd Base ( Wisconsin verbal commit for softball)
Ava VanAsten, Senior Left Fielder (Bryant & Stratton College Commit)
Kally Meredith, Junior Center Fielder ( Florida International University Verbal Commit)
Addison Race, Senior (St. Norbert College Commit)
Anna LaCount, Senior Catcher (Minot State University Commit)
Makenna DeValk, Senior Catcher (St. Norbert Commit)
The last Ghost to play for the Badger softball team was Haley Hestekin who joined the Badgers after winning a state softball championship in 2017 with the Ghosts.
