KAUKAUNA — The Kaukauna Ghosts, coming off a playoff appearance to close out last year, begins its season Thursday on the road at Ashwaubenon High School.

Kick off for the game is at 7 p.m.

The Ghosts will have significant gaps to fill following the graduation last spring of a group of outstanding seniors from the team, including wide receiver Carson Sippel, linebacker Will Campbell and kickers Gavin Lahm and Kyle Seefeldt.

Lahm will play for the Badgers this fall, Sippel will attend Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota, Campbell is off to Carroll University in Waukesha and Seefeldt will attend Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa.

Campbell, who will compete in both football and track for the Pioneers, is the 2021 recipient of the John Anderson Award as the most outstanding senior linebacker in Wisconsin.

Sippel, the Ghosts outstanding wide receiver, said on Twitter, “I am very grateful for all of the relationships built and lessons learned throughout this entire process. With that being said, I am 100% committed to Winona State University! #GoWarriors.”

Kicker-punter Kyle Seefeldt, in making his announcement official on Twitter wrote, “I will be accepting a scholarship and committing to Upper lowa.”

Lahm who will join the Badgers as a preferred walk-on in the fall, were part of a talented Ghosts’ squad that advanced to the WIAA playoffs following their Fox Valley Association season.
