KAUKAUNA — American Legion Post 41 will kick off Flag Day celebrations with an event at the Grignon Mansion in Kaukauna.
The program will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026 on the front lawn of the historic home, 1313 Augustine Street.
The program will feature a Flag Folding Ceremony, which is, according to the Post’s Adjutant William Jensen, “One of the most solemn and meaningful aspects of military etiquette regarding our flag.”
The second part of the program, “The Missing Man Table,” is set for our Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action from all wars.
The event is open to the public.
Since it will be held on the front lawn of the Mansion, people attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and sun protection.
Legion members will be on hand to collect old, frayed or worn American flags for proper, respectful retirement of the banner.
June 13 also is the beginning of the summer tour season at the Mansion.
Friends of the Grignon Mansion will be on hand for guided tours of the home beginning at 11 a.m. after the Legion Ceremony.
The “Mansion in the Woods” will be open for tours the second and fourth weekends of the summer months from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visit grignonmansion.org for more information on the summer tours and events.
