APPLETON — The southbound I-41 ramps at Wisconsin Highway 47/Richmond Street will close Friday, July 17, 2026 as crews continue work to replace the overpass. Northbound ramps have already closed earlier.
The Richmond Street bridge over I-41 and all ramps at the interchange will be closed until fall 2026.

Week of July 13, 2026
- Drivers will encounter various overnight reduced lanes on Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) I-41 in work zones.
- NB I-41 between WIS 15/County OO/Northland Avenue (exit 139) and County E/Ballard Road (exit 144) is scheduled to be CLOSED nightly Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14, from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- NB DETOUR: Take WIS 15/County OO/Northland Avenue east to County E/Ballard Road. Turn left and continue north to NB I-41.
- The following ramp is also scheduled to close during the nightly I-41 closures:
- NB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 15/County OO/Northland Avenue will be CLOSED from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- NB I-41 between WIS 96/ Wisconsin Avenue (exit 138) and County E/Ballard Road (exit 144) is scheduled to be CLOSED nightly Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16, from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- DETOUR: Take WIS 96/ Wisconsin Avenue east to County A/Lynndale Drive. Turn left and continue north to WIS 15/County OO/Northland Avenue. Turn right and travel east to County E/Ballard Road. Turn left and continue to NB I-41.
- The following ramp is also scheduled to close during the nightly I-41 closures:
- NB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 15/County OO/Northland Avenue will be CLOSED from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- SB I-41 on- and off-ramp at Richmond Street/WIS 47 are scheduled to be CLOSED beginning Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m. through fall 2026.
- WIS 47/Richmond Street between I-41 and Evergreen Drive is scheduled to be CLOSED July 17 through fall 2026.
- County JJ between West Frontage Road and East Frontage Road will be CLOSED daily Monday, July 13 through Wednesday, July 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wrightstown Road between West Frontage Road and East Frontage Road will be CLOSED daily Thursday, July 16 through Friday, July 17, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Mid Valley Drive between County F/Scheuring Road and Birchwood Road is CLOSED Monday, July 13 through Wednesday July 15.

- NB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 96/Wisconsin Avenue is closed through fall 2026.
- WIS 47/Richmond Street over I-41 is closed through fall 2026.
- NB I-41 on- and off-ramps at WIS 47/Richmond Street are closed through fall 2026.
- Buchanan Street over I-41 is closed through summer 2026.
- French Road over I-41 in Appleton is closed through late summer 2026.
- French Road between County DDD and Apple Creek Road in Wrightstown is closed through late fall 2026.
- East Frontage Road between Kerrigan Drive and County U is closed through mid-summer 2026.
