OUTAGAMIE COUNTY — Two 16-year-olds were seriously injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash just north of Apple Creek.
According to a news release, deputies with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office were called out anout 5:20 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of County Highway EE and Wege Road just outside of Apple Creek for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
Investigators say that a sedan, driven by a 24-year-old man was traveling south on EE approaching Wege Road.
Another sedan, driven by a 16-year-old male and occupied by another 16-year-old male, was traveling east on Wege Road approaching County Road EE.
The sheriff’s office said that the eastbound sedan failed to yield at the stop sign and to southbound traffic and was struck by the southbound sedan.
Both of the teens in the eastbound sedan were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the southbound sedan was evaluated for minor injuries.
Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Gold Cross Ambulance, Town of Center First Responders, and Town of Center Fire Department.
