Final: Kaukauna Ghosts advance to WIAA quarter finals with win over Slinger

SLINGER — The Kaukauna High School Galloping Ghosts football team is on the road again in the Division 2 WIAA football playoffs with a Level 2 game Friday at Slinger.

Kaukauna the 6-seed, travels to Slinger, the 2-seed who advanced after a 35-28 win at home over 7-seed Germantown.

The game will stream live on the Slinger Owls YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOf3EWO_IkVvFqoiURFBEOw

Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at: https://gofan.co/app/events/751603?schoolId=WI19499 OR credit/debit and Apple Pay at the gates.

In their portion of the bracket last week, the Ghosts cruised to a 35-19 win over No. 3 Rufus King High School in Milwaukee.

BRACKETS

In last Friday’s game, the Ghosts’ Noah Hofmann rushed for four first-half touchdowns, and a Finnley Doriott to Parker Schuh passing TD put Kaukauna up 35-0 at halftime.

A smothering defense kept King’s offense in check throughout most of the game.

The Generals were able to put up a touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter and tacked on another 13 in the final quarter, but by then it was too little, too late.
