KAUKAUNA — A Kaukauna Area High School student has accomplished the rare feat of earning a perfect score on the ACT college entrance exam.
Zach Vanderloop, scored a perfect 36 on the test, according to the school district.
“This is an incredible and rare accomplishment! Zach, your hard work and dedication have certainly paid off, and we are proud of you!” the high school wrote in a social media post.
Achieving a perfect composite score on the ACT is exceedingly rare, accomplished by less than one-tenth of one percent of all test-takers nationwide, according to Educational Testing Service, which administers the test.
Out of the roughly 1.3 million high school students who take the exam each year, typically around 2,000 to 3,000 students manage to answer enough questions correctly across the English, math, reading, and science sections to secure a top score.
That puts a student who earns a 36 in the top 99.9th percentile of all high school test-takers across the country.
