KAUKAUNA — The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts football team opened its 2023 season with a fury, defeating Ashwaubenon 42-14 Thursday at Bank of Kaukauna Stadium.

Kaukauna scored four times on the ground and once through the air to take a 35-0 halftime lead while the defense left the Jaguars stymied.

Kaukauna opened the second half with a scoring drive off an interception.

Ashwaubenon scored twice late with a running clock for a final score of Kaukauna 42, Ashwabenon 14.

Kaukauna travels to West De Pere next week, the state runner-up that knocked the Ghosts out of the post-season.
