KAUKAUNA — The Kaukauna Ghosts baseball team will receive a police escort out of town Thursday on their way to the state championship game.
The bus departs at 4 p.m. from the baseball parking lot.
Come help send the team off in style and be part of this historic moment for Kaukauna baseball.
The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday and Ghosts will play the winner of the Madison Memorial vs. Muskego D1 semifinal.
The game will be broadcast live on Green Bay’s CW14.
Kaukauna defeated Nicolet 7-1 Wednesday at Appleton North High School in a game that was moved and rescheduled to the morning due to impending weather
Kaukauna is making its fourth appearance in the state tournament and its first since 1954.
All three of the Galloping Ghosts’ previous appearances came during a four-year span from 1951-54.
They won their lone state title in 1953 and bowed out of title contention in the other appearances in 1951 and 1954.
