KAUKAUNA — Defending state champion Kaukauna continues its run through the Division 1 softball playoffs after defeating Ashwaubenon 5-0 Tuesday in Kaukauna.

Karly Meredith, recently named the FVA softball player of the year fir a second season, pitched the no-hitter.

Kaukauna, which pushed its winning streak to 77, will face #2 Green Bay Preble in the Sectional final Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Pulaski High School with a return trip to state on the line.

Preble advanced following an 11-1, six-inning game against #3 Pulaski.

BRACKETS

The Ghosts softball team’s last loss was May 18, 2021, and they are chasing a third-in-a-row state title.

The Galloping Ghosts captured the gold trophy in each of its previous state appearances including 2010, 20172021 and 2022.
