LITTLE CHUTE – Multiple departments were called in Thursday to help fight a commercial building fire in Little Chute.

The Little Chute Fire Department was called about 8:30 p.m. Thursday to the 1500 block of east Elm Drive.

There were reports from a passerby who told dispatchers they saw smoke and flames coming from a commercial building.

The first crews to arrive found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure, according to Little Chute Fire Chief Duane Nechodom.

Responders found no one was in the building.

Within minutes of attacking the fire LCFD encountered difficulty trying to extinguish the fire due to the nature of the structure so additional departments were called in.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of Kimberly Fire/Rescue, Appleton Fire Department, Combined Locks Public Safety and Town of Buchanan Fire and Rescue

The department also was assisted by Outagamie County Communications Center – 911, Fox Valley Metro Police Department, Outagamie County CERT, Kaukauna Utilities, We Energies, Gold Cross Ambulance and Village of Little Chute – Public Works.
