FOX CROSSING — A woman is dead after authorities she jumped from a moving sheriff’s office vehicle Monday while begin transported by deputies.

The two Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office deputies involved are on administrative leave pending conclusion of the investigation.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies were transporting a 43-year-old woman about 5:30 p.m. Monday on south on Highway 441 in the town of Fox Crossing.

When they neared Racine Street, the woman exited the vehicle while it was moving, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

She was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she later died.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
