ASHWAUBENON — The Kaukauna High School softball team returns to the WIAA state tournament after its 6-1 sectional final win Wednesday over Green Bay Preble.

The showdown between No. 1 seeds came after the Ghosts topped No. 2 Hortonville for the third time this season 5-1 in a Division 1 softball sectional semifinal on Monday.

The 2021 State Softball Tournament runs Monday-Wednesday, June 28-30 at Bay Port High School & UW-Green Bay.

The Ghosts will face the winner of the Chippewa Falls v Marshfield game on Monday in a Division 1 quarterfinal.

Kaukauna has had two state softball championship teams. The first in 2010 and the most recent in 2017.
