KAUKAUNA — A six-vehicle pileup near Kaukauna Tuesday closed northbound lanes of I-41 for hours, but there were no injuries.
According to a news release, Vandenbroek Fire Department, City of Kaukauna Fire Department Ambulance, Kaukauna-Vandenbroek First Responders, Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol were dispatched at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday to I‑41 northbound, just south of Highway U, for a report of a vehicle accident with injuries.
Initial information indicated that an occupant may have been trapped therefore Wrightstown Fire Department was also requested.
Upon arrival, crews found a six‑vehicle crash involving one semi‑tractor trailer, two pickup trucks pulling trailers, and three passenger vehicles. Despite the severity of the incident, no injuries were reported.
Due to the extent of the damage, the severity of the crash, and the significant amount of fluid spilled, the scene required extensive cleanup operations. Vandenbroek Fire remained on scene for approximately three hours before clearing.
Fox City’s Towing, LLC and Outagamie County Highway Department assisted in clearing the scene.
