FLOODING ALERT: Multiple highways are currently closed Wednesday in northeast and north central Wisconsin due to flooding. Other areas of the state could be impacted as conditions change over the coming days, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

See all the road closures HERE at 511 Wisconsin.

Earlier Wednesday, the president of the Village of Shiocton issued a large-scale evacuation for all Village of Shiocton residents until further notice. All residents within village limits were to evacuate by 3 p.m.

WisDOT encourages drivers to be aware of changing travel conditions and visit 511wi.gov to view updated road closures impacted by flooding, along with live traffic cameras, weather alerts, and more.

If you encounter a flooded road:

  • Never drive into standing water. It only takes a foot of rushing water to sweep away most cars
  • Never ignore barriers. Turn around and find a different route.
  • Never walk in flooded roads. Just six inches of fast-moving water can knock over an adult.

Rivers in central, northeast, and east-central Wisconsin remain at or above flood stage, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

Additionally, there are numerous reports of urban and small stream flooding, with several road closures.

With more rain in the forecast through late week, any additional rain will exacerbate any ongoing flooding as soils are saturated.

The most important thing to remember is to not drive through flooded roads. Water levels can vary and the road beneath could be unstable.
