KAUKAUNA — KHS freshman Sydney Josephson had second- and third-place finishes Saturday at the Neenah swim and dive sectional, setting a team record along the way.
Her performance qualifies her for the WIAA State Swim and Dive meet next weekend in Waukesha.
Josephson’s third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.40 was a new team record.
The previous record time was 58.60 set in 2010.
Josephson also placed second in the 50-meter freestyle and unofficially will be heading to state in both events.
Josephson and Kaukauna teammate junior Avery Eisenschink swim for the Appleton East/Hortonville/Kaukauna Swim Coop team and swam in Saturday’s sectional. Kaukauna’s Francis Koester also swam on the team this season.
Eisenschink finished 23rd in the 50 free and 19th in the 100 fly.
