FISH CREEK — The Wisconsin DNR has begun notifying campers about upcoming shower building reconstruction next summer in parts of Peninsula State Park.
Beginning in 2026, all shower buildings in the Tennison Bay Campground will be renovated to upgrade the buildings utilities.
The shower buildings will be closed in phases to ensure showers will be available in the campground during the 2026 camping season.
In phase 1, three shower buildings will be closed.
The three buildings are nearest campsites 226E, 312E and 425E.
Phase 1 work is estimated to take place from April to July 2026.
In phase 2, two shower buildings will be closed. The two buildings are nearest campsites 322E and 476E.
Phase 2 work is estimated to occur from August to December 2026.
To avoid shutting down the campground for the entire 2026 season, campers should expect some construction noise on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Campsites 222, 226, 333, 360, 425, 426 and 427 will be closed and used as staging areas for these renovations.
