KAUKAUNA — As the Kaukauna Area School District continues to consider a potential facilities referendum, schools Superintendent Mike Slowinski is holding a series of community meetings.
If any Kaukauna Area School District residents would like to learn more about the district’s proposed long-range facilities plan, Slowinski will hold a virtual session Tuesday, May 14 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Attendees must RSVP using the link HERE.
Slowinski also will be at Landreman’s for Coffee & Conversations next Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. No RSVP needed.
District residents also will receive a survey in the mail that explains the components of the facilities plan to gauge community support.
In the latest district newsletter, officials say they are proposing a district-wide $220 million plan that would add about $190 per year to a $200,000 house.
The results of the survey will help to inform the district’s next steps toward a potential referendum, according to an email sent to residents.
The district-wide plan laid out in the most recent newsletter includes money for construction of a new middle school, addressing elementary space needs, safety, technology and capital maintenance along with expanded child care services.
It follows a series of recent community input sessions held by the district to gain additional feedback prior to sending out the survey.
