Northbound I-41 remains closed at Lynndale in Appleton as of 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

GRAND CHUTE — An adult and a child were ejected during a crash Thursday morning on I-41, and four other children were transported by ambulance.

Emergency responders from the Grand Chute Police and Fire Departments responded about 7:50 a.m. Thursday to the area of Interstate 41 Northbound and N. Lynndale Dr. in the Town of Grand Chute for the report of a single vehicle rollover crash, according to a news release.

Upon arrival of emergency responders, it was discovered that an adult and small child had been ejected from the vehicle.

Responders quickly began providing aid to those ejected and multiple passengers still contained within the vehicle.

The adult was transported by medical helicopter to a local hospital.

Five children were transported by ambulance for medical treatment.

Multiple secondary crashes occurred as a result of the first rollover crash.

Interstate 41 Northbound is expected to remain closed for several hours to facilitate crash investigation and reconstruction.

The Grand Chute Police Department responded to the crash along with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Appleton Police Department, Fox Crossing Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, ThedaStar, and the Outagamie County Highway Department.
