KAUKAUNA — Contractors will be removing tree stumps in White City Park this week from trees taken down because the of Emerald Ash borer infestation.

Once the stumps are removed, 13 new trees of various species will be planted in their place to help increase biodiversity, provide shade, habitat, screening and increase bird and pollinator interest, according to the city of Kaukauna.

City property has been hit hard in recent years by the Emaral Ash borer.

By 2022, most parks in the city had been infected.

The area around the Grignon Mansion had been hit particularly hard.

But this past April, several school groups participated in replanting efforts.
