DISTURBANCE AT ERB PARK RESULTS IN AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION

APPLETON —The Appleton Police Department is currently investigating a shots-fired incident from Tuesday evening in Erb Park.

The suspected shooter has been arrested and is awaiting charges in court.

No one was injured, police say.

Appleton police were called about 8:15 p.m. for a report of shots fired near the park pavilion.

Officers responded, secured a perimeter and determined no injuries or damage occurred as a result of the incident.

By 8:15 p.m., officers had arrested a 19-year-old man.

A handgun was also recovered. The suspect was transported and confined at the Outagamie County Jail.

Police are recommending two counts of Felony Bail Jumping, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Disorderly Conduct, Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Resisting/Obstructing.

Officers will continue to work with the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office to determine if any additional charges are applicable.

Police believe all of the individuals involved in the disturbance have been identified and located.
