APPLETON — Work is expected to begin in April to widen a stretch of I-41 from Appleton to De Pere from four lanes to six.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region will hold three public meetings — one held virtually online and two in-person — for proposed improvements on the 23 miles of I-41 from WIS 96 (Wisconsin Avenue) in Appleton to County F (Scheuring Road) in De Pere.

The meetings will be held on Tuesday, March 12; Wednesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 14, 2024.

I-41 EXPANSION PUBLIC MEETINGS

·        In-person Public Meeting – Thursday, March 14 from 5-7 p.m.

o   Location: Fox Valley Technical College – D.J. Bordini Center, 5 N. Systems Drive, Appleton, Wis.

The purpose of the meetings is to provide a design status update for the project as well as an overview of upcoming I-41 construction in 2024 and 2025, share a tentative construction timeline, and provide an update on the noise barrier analysis and vote. A question-and-answer session will be available for all participants (in-person and online) immediately following the presentations.

The project will reconstruct and expand 23 miles of I-41 from four lanes to six lanes between WIS 96 (Wisconsin Avenue) in Appleton and County F (Scheuring Road) in De Pere.

The I-41 project website includes interactive maps of the project limits and location, proposed scope and schedule, displays and exhibits, and an opportunity for the public to provide comment.

The meeting facilities are wheelchair accessible.
