KAUKAUNA — Andrea Fencl has joined city of Kaukauna staff as the new Marketing and Communications manager.

In this new role, Fencl will be responsible for developing and implementing creative and effective communication and marketing strategies between the city and the community, according to a news release from the city.

Fencl, a northeast Wisconsin native, received Bachelor of Science degrees in communication and photography at Carroll University.

She also obtained a Master of Arts degree in communication from the University of South Dakota, where she taught the basic communication course to undergraduate students.

“What most drew me to this position was the opportunity to work within a supportive, close-knit community,” Fencl was quoted as saying in a news release.

“The City of Kaukauna has a lot of incredible things going for it – the beautiful nature trails, the programming and activities they offer, and the opportunity for growth is really inspiring and I am truly honored to be a part of it,” she said.

Fencl brings with her a wealth of diverse experience in communications and marketing, according to the news release.

Most recently, she served as a Digital Marketing Communications Specialist at Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative based in Green Bay.

In this capacity, she formulated and managed social media content for Edge and its three affiliate non-profit organizations, devised and executed communication plans for various events and maintained the organizations’ websites.

Prior to this, she held positions as a communications specialist at Faith Technologies Incorporated and as a reporter and photographer at The Waukesha Freeman.

“We welcome Andrea to the City of Kaukauna and are confident that her extensive experience in communication and marketing will greatly contribute to our community’s growth and engagement,” said Mayor Tony Penterman. “With her dedication for fostering connections and effective communication, we look forward to showcasing the vibrant spirit of Kaukauna and its exciting initiatives.”
