KAUKAUNA — Now that New Year’s is past, the majority of people who enjoy a real tree for Christmas are ready to get rid of it.

Yes, the city of Kaukauna will pick them up weeks on your trash day, but there also are a number of environmentally friendly options as well.

The Bubolz Nature Preserve, 4815 N Lynndale Dr, Appleton, is taking trees for its winter survival program. Drop the trees off at the preserve HERE.

The Quinney Fishing Club is accepting used or unused Christmas trees at the fishing club W5604 Quinney Rd., Chilton, just south of Stockbridge on the east side of Lake Winnebago. Drop them on the westside of the club house. They’re used to mark the ice during ice fishing season.

Hatch’em Acre, an urban farm on the outskirts of Kaukauna, is officially taking tinsel free and chemical (painted too) free trees to feed their animals. You can drop the trees off in the front yard of the farm on Higway 96.
