KAUKAUNA — Kaukauna’s 313 Dodge has gained a reputation as the place to go for flights of drinks, everything from margaritas to mojitos.
But on Saturday, they stepped it up significantly, attempting to set the world record for the longest old fashioned flight.
The flight included 104 glasses of hand muddled, Driftless Glen Distillery brandy old fashioneds with Shifty’s Old Fashioned Mix.
The drinks were made indoors on a 24-foot-long flight board, then carefully carried to the patio for the sold-out event through a partnership with Venture Wisconsin.
Started by Appleton native and entrepreneur Evan Freimuth, Venture Wisconsin launched its statewide 2-for-1 old fashioned passport at the event.
On the Venture Wisconsin Facebook page, Freimuth says they plan to submit the attempt at the record to Guinness World Records.
For reference, when the largest old fashioned cocktail record has been broken in 2021, 2023, and scheduled again for 2024, it was not submitted to Guiness for confirmation, according to Freimuth.
313 Dodge will celebrate its fifth anniversary Tuesday Dec. 19, 2023 where they’re bringing back their walkup window for one night only, featuring to-go drinks available for purchase along with charcuterie boxes.
