APPLETON – Appleton police are continuing to investigate a shooting that injured one person during a large disturbance early Saturday in downtown Appleton.

Appleton police say officers responded shortly before 2 a.m. Nov. 25 for a large physical disturbance in the 500 block of West College Avenue.

As they arrived, police say a single gunshot was fired by one of the people involved.

One person was shot, and officers searched the area but did not locate the shooter among the fleeing crowd.

Officers immediately rendered medical aid to the shooting victim who was eventually taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A single shell casing along with other items of evidence were collected from the scene. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
