KAUKAUNA — Five players from the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts football team have received all-region honors from the Wisconsin Football Coach’s Association.
All-region teams were announced today, all-state teams will be announced Tuesday.
This year’s honorees are:
- Mitch Verstegen, senior offensive lineman
- Finnley Doriot, senior quarterback
- Parker Schuh, junior wide receiver
- John Neumann, senior defensive back
- Carson Van Dinter, senior defensive back
The five players have led a Kaukauna squad set to face Waunakee Friday in a Level 4 showdown with a trip to state on the line. (Tickets, directions)
The game will be covered by Zaleski Sports to watch free online from anywhere.
This will be the second year in a row that Kaukauna has played in a Division 2 Level 4 game. They got there by defeating Cedarburg 42-13 on Friday.
Waunakee, also a No. 1 seed, is coming off a 49-13 win over No. 2 New Richmond.
Kaukauna’s trip through the playoffs include:
Level 1: 33-14 win over Brookfield Central (HIGHLIGHTS)
Level 2: 13-7 win over West De Pere (HIGHLIGHTS)
Level 3: 42-13 win over Cedarburg (HIGHLIGHTS)
