MARINETTE — Kaukauna’s 2023 AAA Legion baseball team opens state tournament play Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Plover at 5 p.m. in Marinette.

Other opening round games Tuesday are:
- Manitowoc vs. Eau Clair at 11 a.m.
- Janesville vs. Double Day at 2 p.m.
- Sheboygan vs. Marinette at 8 p.m.
The Kaukauna Angels defeated De Pere 9-4 Saturday at Westwood Park in De Pere to advance to the state tournament.
De Pere needed to defeat Kaukauna twice in the double-elimination tournament to make it to state. A victory last night over Kaukauna set up today’s winner-take-all final.
A two-run homer by Jake Lucas and tough pitching by Noah Meyer was enough to put Kaukauna on top.
The state tournament runs July 25-29, 2023 in Marinette.
