KAUKAUNA — The Stoneridge Piggly Wiggly stores in Kaukauna and De Pere have been sold Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly, which operates 11 Piggly Wiggly stores primarily in southeast Wisconsin, according to multiple media reports.

StoneRidge Meat and Country Markets has owned both stores since January 2018 after purchasing them from Larry’s Markets, Inc.

“StoneRidge Meat and Country Markets’ decision to sell the stores gives us more time to focus on the wholesale division production of snack sticks, sausage, and other items produced out of the Wautoma facility,” president of StoneRidge, Duane Detjens was quoted as saying to WFRV-TV.

The new ownership is scheduled to take effect Jan. 31.

“We cannot be more excited to welcome the Kaukauna and De Pere stores into our family and we truly look forward to serving those communities for years to come,” Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly president Mike Olwig said in a news release.”We appreciate all that StoneRidge has done for these communities over the years as well as the Verhagen family before them, and we are excited to carry on that tradition of support and be an integral part of the community. Also, with us being a 100% Employee Owned Company, we welcome our new Kaukauna and De Pere Team Members, who will join us as owners of the company.”

Stoneridge recently announced the closer of its Little Chute location and closed its Wautoma store in 2025 to convert it to a wholesale production facility.
