PULASKI — It’s no secret the the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts softball team had its eye’s on a return trip to the WIAA state softball tournament in a quest for a third-in-a-row title.

Top seed Kaukauna took a major step toward that goal Thursday with a 10-0 sectional final win over #2 Green Bay Preble at Pulaski High School.

Summer Schmidt and Reagan Millard both had home runs in the shutout.

BRACKETS

The win pushed the Ghosts’ winning streak to 78 games.

The Ghosts now can focus on preparing for the trip to Goodman Diamond on the UW Madison campus, a stage quite familiar to the team.

The 2023 State Softball Tournament runs Thursday-Saturday, June 8-10 in Madison.

The Ghosts softball team’s last loss was May 18, 2021, and they are chasing a third-in-a-row state title.

The Galloping Ghosts captured the gold trophy in each of its previous state appearances including 2010, 20172021 and 2022.
