KAUKAUNA — The Kaukauna Ghosts softball team won its post-season opener, taking down De Pere High School 10-0 in a WIAA Regional Final.
Karly Meredith threw a no-hitter, striking out 14.
Jozy Ebben hit a 2-run home run.
Kaukauna is back in action Tuesday, hosting #4 Ashwaubenon who defeated Kimberly 1-0.
Each game the Ghosts play is a new high school sports state record after the team has now strung together 76 wins in a row, breaking the streak held until 2018 by Kimberly football.
The Ghosts softball team’s last loss was May 18, 2021
Adding to the record book, Kaukauna claimed another conference championship, and in the final week of the regular season, Head Coach Tim Roehrig secured his 500th win.
