KAUKAUNA — The record breaking, two-time defending state softball champion Kaukauna Ghosts begin post-season play Thursday with an eye on another title.

Top-seeded Kaukauna hosts No. 8 De Pere Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the regional final.

De Pere advanced following its 4-2 win Tuesday over West DePere.

Each game the Ghosts play is a new high school sports state record after the team has strung together 75 wins in a row, breaking the streak held until 2018 by Kimberly football.

The Ghosts softball team’s last loss was May 18, 2021

Adding to the record book, Kaukauna claimed another conference championship, and in the final week of the regular season, Head Coach Tim Roehrig secured his 500th win.

The winner of Thursday’s game will play again Tuesday and face either Kimberly or Ashwaubenon.
