KAUKAUNA — The staff and students of River View Middle School in Kaukauna are planning a 100-year celebration of the school building from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

The original Kaukauna High School, built in the late 19th century at 101 Oak St., was expanded twice over the years.

In 1999 the Kaukauna Area School District opened the current high school on the city’s south side.

At the same time the middle school was moved from Electa Quinney to the former high school, which was renamed River View Middle School.

There will be music, self-guided tours, light refreshments, and more.

The following River View music groups will perform in the commons:

6:10 – 6:25 Harmonic Voices
6:35 – 6:50 PIE Time Orchestra
7:00 – 7:15 Jazz Band

Visitors are encouraged to walk around the building to remember good times and to see how learning has changed.

If a room is open, feel free to walk in. Please be respectful of the materials and equipment in rooms.

Yearbooks will be on display on the first floor.

Cookies, lemonade, and water are available in the Commons

There wiil be a photo opportunity by the marble staircase on the second floor of the original portion of the building.

Current River View staff will be stationed around the building to assist and talk to visitors.

Former staff members from this building (KHS or RVMS), can get a flower to pin on in the lobby.

This has been a historic year for some of the district’s most iconic buildings.

In March, the building that is now Park Community Charter School celebrated its 125th anniversary.
