MEQUON — Kaukauna Ghost senior guard Brandon Mudler was presented with a $5,000 Majerus Family Foundation scholarship Thursday at the WBY Shootout in Mequon.
The scholarship is in memory of the late college basketball coach Rick Majerus.
The award was presented on the opening day of the Wisconsin Basketball Shootout at Concordia University in Mequon.
Mudler wrote an essay for the scholarship awarded to senior players who also complete an application, submit a recommendation and meet the scholarship criteria.
The Ghosts are in Mequon for the three-day tournament featuring approximately 50 high-school boys teams compete at Concordia University.
The event showcases the talents of top teams and individual players.
Kaukauna dropped its opening game Wednesday 75-56 to Wauwatosa West.
The Ghosts take on Grafton at 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
