APPLETON — An Appleton Girl Scout raised more than $10,000 for improvements to local park, helping her achieve the Gold Award.

As her final project, Olivia Caravella raised more the money to construct a 16×20 garden storage shed at the Scheig Center Gardens in Appleton Memorial Park.

“Her hard work and generosity will benefit our volunteers and staff that maintain the gardens throughout the year,” read a post on the Appleton Parks and Recreation Facebook page.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last week to celebrate the completion of her project and was attended by Mayor Jake Woodford, executives from the Girl Scouts, APRD staff, and many volunteers.
