COMBINED LOCKS — Combined Locks Public Safety says deputies recently broke up a large group that had gathered in a village park for a fight between several juveniles, and they’re hoping to prevent similar incidents in the future.

When deputies arrived at the scene, many vehicles left the area at a high rate of speed without their lights on, causing concern for the safety of people in the vehicles as well as other motorists, according to a news release.

The situation was resolved without issue, but the village wants to ensure this doesn’t continue for the safety of the community.

Authorities say there have been rumors of organized “events” like this within the village coming up in the near future.

Authorities say they are providing this information was to spread awareness, particularly among parents who may not know their kids are involved.

Although the first incident was resolved without issue, authorities say this type of activity is not permitted in the public or at parks within the village.
