LA CROSSE — The best April Fool’s jokes are the ones that are most believable, right? If that’s the standard, Kwik Trip wins the day hands down.
The gag started simply enough Friday morning with this tweet:
“The collab you didn’t know you needed. Thanks for letting us bag your beer, Leinenkugels. Now available at Kwik Trip.”
As we all know, the ubiquitous convenience store chain is well known or its milk-in-a-bag. So why not?
The next tweet in the thread includes a link to the company’s web site, where visitors were greeted with the message, “thanks for clicking, Happy April Fool’s Day.”
But Twitter followers were not about to let it go, once the cat was out of the bag.
“Please make this real,” one wrote.
So who knows, maybe it will show up some day at a Kwik Trip near you.
