KERKHOVEN, Minnesota — A Kaukauna native and founder of a popular Kaukauna Facebook group died following a one-vehicle crash late Wednesday night, July 28, in Minnesota, according to newspaper reports.

Daniel Basler Jr., originally from Kaukauna who currently lived in Webster, South Dakatota, founded GhostTown Pictures in 2018.

The popular Facebook group was created as a place to share photos, news and other activities happening in Kaukauna. The group was followed by more than 2,600 people in the area.

Basler also was active in other Kaukauna-related social media groups, including the Kaukauna Community Group, run by this site.

In a post in the group Thursday, family members wrote, “Last night @ 11:51pm we lost amazing person, he’s the creator of this group.. We love you Daniel Basler, my younger brother. See you when I get there bro… You’ll be missed by many.”

According to the crash report, Basler, 36, was driving a 2014 freight tractor eastbound on Minnesota Highway 40 in Louriston Township when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the south ditch and rolled shortly before midnight.
