KAUKAUNA — The travel website TripAdvisor.com ranks local eateries based on reviews posted by customers, and it turns out the best restaurant in Kaukauna technically isn’t in Kaukauna.

But it’s close enough to make it worth a drive, according to reviewers.

No. 1 on the TripAdvisor list is Rico’s Family Restaurant, which is in Freedom, but has a Kaukauna address.

“Great breakfasts, wonderful lunches and dinners. We are regulars – the place is habit forming. Friendly waitstaff, quick service. Rico, the owner, is very attentive to good service and always greats his customers. He is a big promoter of Freedom’s activities. We compare all other restaurants to this one,” according to a 5-star review this week on the site.

No. 2 on the list is Kaukauna Coffee and Tea, located uptown on Wisconsin Avenue.

“What a neat find in Kaukauna. We were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem of a place. The storefront itself is not impressive but once you enter the door you are enchanted by the eclectic surroundings and the friendly service. You place your order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. The place is decorated with 50’s style unmatched tables and chairs that makes it fun and inviting to people of all ages,” wrote the most recent reviewer.

No. 3 on The TripAdvisor list is Pagoni’s Pizza on Ann Street by Larry’s Piggly Wiggly on the South side. “Best Salads in the Area, along with great pasta and pizzas”

No. 4 is a longtime local dining spot, the Out-O-Town Club, which is out-o-town off of HIghway 96 on the way to Wrightstown. “Good Food, Great Value, Pleasant Experience!”

No. 5, rounding out the top five is Van Abel’s, east of the city in Hollandtown. “Saturday night family style”

No. 6 is Little Chicago

No. 7 is Sky View Club

No. 8 is Landreman’s

No. 9 is Rose Hill Bar

No. 10 is Linda and Logan’s
