KAUKAUNA — Twelve Kaukauna High School students recently were recognized as AP scholars for their hard work and exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) program exams, according to a news release from the Kaukauna School District.
The AP Scholar Award is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. The AP Scholar with Honor award is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. The AP Scholar with Distinction award is granted to students who earn an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.

During the 2015-2016 school year, Kaukauna High School offered 12 Advanced Placement courses, allowing 11th and 12th grade students to take college-level courses in Art History, Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Composition, Environmental Science, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Physics, Statistics, U.S. Government and Politics, U.S. History and European History. Those who perform well on the AP exams can earn college credit, advanced placement, or both. More than 1,400 institutions award a full year’s credit or more to students presenting a sufficient number of qualifying AP test scores.
