SEYMOUR — They weren’t suspects in prison stripes that Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputies were called out to apprehend Tuesday, although the subjects in question did have stripes.

Sheriff’s deputies responded about 2:30 p.m. to corral two zebras that were on the loose in Seymour. The sheriff’s posted photos of the chase on its Facebook page.

The zebras were captured and returned to the owner who lives in the area, according to the Appleton Post-Crescent.

After the zebras were safely returned to their home, the sheriff’s office referred the incident to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to ensure that their owners were properly licensed, according to the paper.
