KAUKAUNA — Those who want to do some fishing in the Fox River will now have a newly rebuilt pier thanks to the efforts of a Kaukauna Boy Scout.

Brody Riehl worked with 1000 Islands Environmental Center in Kaukauna to completely redo the pier closest to the Nature Center, using composite wood that will make the structure far more durable..

Riehl, 14, raised $7,800 from the community to fund the new Eagle Claw Fishing Pier that was dedicated Monday.

The project is the final requirement to becoming an Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank in Scouting. It is the culmination of years of work and advancement.
