First responders located the site of the crash north of Park Lane and west of Herwig Road in a densely wooded area and began searching for survivors.

Officials learned that the plane, a fixed-wing Piper flying a return trip from Kenosha to Menomonie, was occupied by 5 adults and 1 child.
Prior to the crash the aircraft was reported to be in contact with a nearby air traffic control tower. Investigators are working to learn what the content of those transmissions were and if a weather event in the area may have played any role in the crash.

Identities of those involved are being withheld at this time. No damage to structures or injuries to anyone on the ground have been reported at this time.
The scene remains secured as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and will be leading the investigation into the cause of this incident and any additional details will be released by those agencies and further inquiries should be directed to those agencies.
