KAUKAUNA — As the new school year begins, Kaukauna High School is reminding students and parents about its dress-code policy in a new social media post.

KAUKAUNA HIGH SCHOOL DRESS CODE GUIDELINES

Tops must have fabric on the front, back, sides, and sleeves or straps over both shoulders

Tops must cover chest and extend well into the stomach area

Bottoms (shorts, skirts, dresses, etc.) must provide full coverage of the buttocks

Undergarments cannot be used only as an outer top or bottom

No advertising or promotion (directly or indirectly) of drugs, alcohol or tobacco related products

Clothing cannot display obscene language, intimidating content or distracting advertising (including phrases of a suggestive nature)

Clothing cannot glorify violence nor support dangerous behavior

Hats, hoods and other large head coverings are prohibited in learning spaces where they may disrupt the learning or safety (at staff discretion)

Chains or other items that could cause injury are not allowed.

Safety or special-purpose equipment must be worn whenever it is required

Shoes must be worn at all times

Each student has the right to determine personal dress while respecting the rights of others, keeping the learning environment appropriate to a work setting, and understanding that the administration and teachers will determine what is appropriate for the school and the classroom.
