KAUKAUNA — A Kaukauna High School student’s good idea means extra meals for community members in need.

In a social media post Friday that quickly garnered hundreds of positive reactions, KHS shared that a student recently reached out to the Family & Consumer Sciences department.

The student’s request? Was it possible to make meals to donate to the Kaukauna Community Fridge located in the Electric City Chuters parking lot?

Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Katie Lehrer worked with the student and a small group to pick a recipe, create a FLEX session, and make 12 pasta salad containers to put in the fridge for community members in need.

The class now hopes this will become a weekly partnership to help fill the Kaukauna Community Fridge.

The Kaukauna Community Fridge is open 24/7 to anyone who needs food, hygiene supplies or cleaning supplies, no registration required or questions asked.
