KAUKAUNA — The Galloping Ghosts will play in the WIAA Division 1 State Baseball Tournament after its 6-3 upset win Tuesday over Bay Port in the sectional final.
Kaukauna won both its games Tuesday, shutting out Kimberly 9-0 earlier in the day in the sectional semifinal at Sunset Park.
The Ghosts jumped out to early leads in both games to set up its wins, forcing their opponents to play catchup.
Kaukauna, the third-seed, took down 1-seed Bay Port and 2-seed Kimberly.
Next up for the Ghosts is the WIAA State Baseball Tournament Monday-Thursday, June 15-18, at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
