OSHKOSH — A man who police say had a handgun inside an Oshkosh Farm and Fleet was shot by a responding officer, sending the man to a hospital.
According to a news release, officers from the Oshkosh Police Department were called out at 8 a.m. Sunday to the Fleet Farm on Washburn Street, for an adult man with a handgun.
Once on scene, a uniformed Oshkosh police officer encountered the man who police say had a handgun, and the officer shot the man.
The man was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
His current condition has not been released.
There is no active threat to the community and no other suspects are believed to be involved, police said.
Investigators with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation are actively investigating this incident.
The officer involved has been placed on paid administrative leave, per department policy.
