APPLETON — For the first time in program history, the Appleton North Lightning boys’ basketball team has finished the season atop the Fox Valley Association standings.

North shares the conference championship with Kaukauna, following the Lightning’s 56-36 win over Neenah Thursday night.

Appleton North enters the 2026 WIAA Division 1 tournament with a No. 2 seed and will open the playoffs at 7 p.m. March 6 at home against the winner of Tuesday’s Appleton East v Hortonville game.

If North wins, they would host the winner of the #7 Kimberly v #10 Homan game on Sat. March 7.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

The 10-seed Appleton North girls team travels to 7-seed Hudson for a 7 p.m. Division 1 Regional game Friday, Feb. 27.
