KAUKAUNA — Dr. Kristin Lyerly a Green Bay OB/GYN physician and a prominent Democratic activist, survived a serious crash last Thursday with a semi while driving on a foggy highway.

In a social media post, the 1987 Kaukauna High School graduate said she feels lucky to be alive.

“Last Thursday, in the terrible fog, my car was broadsided by a semi. Everyone is shaken up but ok. I have a broken ankle, a rotten concussion, and lots of aches and bruises. If I had been going a split second faster, I wouldn’t be here right now,” she wrote.

Lyerly said she plans to talk about it on her radio show next weekend. LINK

In her post, she shared her gratitude to the trauma team at the Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan – especially Dr. Knapp and her nurse Dawn – and members of the Random Lake EMT (mostly volunteers).

Lyerly was a candidate who ran for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District in 2024, focusing on reproductive rights, affordable healthcare, and rural investment.
