KAUKAUNA – St. Ignatius Chesterton Academy will present “A Christmas Carol” at 7 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 1 p.m. on Dec. 21, 2024, at St. Katharine Drexel–St. Mary’s Site Gym, 119 W. 7th St., Kaukauna. Admission price is $7/person or $20/family, at the door.
“A Christmas Carol” is a delightfully clever and fresh retelling of the classic novel by Charles Dickens; this version is adapted by St. Ignatius Drama Teacher and Director Heather Neumann. The classic hymns, dance pieces and carefully crafted adaptation draws audience members into the Christmas spirit. The audience will be served holiday treats and refreshments during the show intermission. St. Ignatius Art Teacher and Drama Tech Jessica Rinka will support the show’s production as well.
Drama is integrated into the classical core curriculum at St. Ignatius Chesterton Academy. With the arts being a primary source of knowledge and ideas in culture for many young people, high school students learn about drama as an art form and also study it in an integrated literary, philosophical, historical and theological context. Additionally, drama benefits students by bringing them together for a common goal. Sophomores presented “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” in October, and the seniors will present their spring production on March 14 and 15.
